Isatou Drammeh and Adama Barry remain missing after an alleged abduction in Old Yundum. Isatou’s mother was taken to hospital in shock.

Two schoolgirls are still missing after an alleged abduction on their way to Bilal Boarding School in Old Yundum.

Isatou Drammeh and Adama Barry, believed to be between 12 and 13 years old, were walking to school with Adama’s twin sister, Awa Barry, when a vehicle reportedly pulled up on the Yarambamba back road. Unknown individuals allegedly took Isatou and Adama, while Awa escaped and ran home to raise the alarm.

All three girls live in the same compound. Adama remains missing, and Awa, her twin sister, is now at home helping her parents and the authorities with their investigation. Isatou is also still missing. Her mother, Fatoumatta Bajaha, was taken to hospital in shock following the incident.

Banu Fasuwa, head of Bilal Boarding School, told The Senegambia Observer that the girls had not reached the school on Monday morning, 2nd November 2026, when the incident happened. He said he learned about it from Awa’s mother and took her to Banjulinding Police Station to report the matter.

Fasuwa described the incident as unprecedented in the school’s history. “This is the first of its kind, and we pray our students come back soonest because we are so worried right now,” he said.
