The Gambia Shines at World Travel Market in London

-

The Gambia is set to take centre stage at this year’s World Travel Market (WTM) Exhibition in London, taking place from November 4 to 6, 2025.

Represented by the Gambia Tourism Board, the West African nation will showcase its unique offerings under the well-loved banner, The Smiling Coast of Africa.

Industry insiders expect The Gambia’s exhibition stand to attract attention from a diverse mix of tourism product buyers and global travel influencers.

With a focus on sustainable and eco-conscious options, the Tourism Board will spotlight carefully curated experiences—from vibrant bird watching and unspoilt beaches to the country’s rich cultural diversity.

Alongside its natural charm, The Gambia’s stand will highlight emerging segments like MICE tourism—positioning the country as an ideal location for meetings, incentives, conferences, and events under uninterrupted African sunshine. Visitors can also discover authentic homestay experiences, offering a deeper connection to local life.

“We’re just exposing and creating visibility and demand. We want people to know that we have peace, naturally provided gifts in terms of culture, heritage, the majestic River Gambia, the birds, and the wildlife,” said Abdoulie Jobe, Gambia’s Minister for Tourism and Culture.

“At the end of the day, if one person comes and visit the stand and hear from the team, we’re able to take something out there to help us to further create the visibility for the country,” he adds.

As the world gathers in London, The Smiling Coast’s message is clear: there’s more to discover in West Africa’s hidden gem.
