Police Seek Public Help in Identifying Boy Drowned at Fajara Beach

The Gambia Police Force has appealed for public assistance in identifying a young boy who drowned at Fajara Beach on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Police said the child was swept away by strong currents while swimming with two other boys. Red Cross volunteers and bystanders rescued two, but one was lost to the sea.
The boy was later pronounced dead at Kanifing General Hospital. His body is being held at the Kanifing Mortuary.
“Anyone with information that could help us trace the family of this young boy should call 𝟑𝟗𝟓𝟎𝟖𝟐𝟓 𝐨𝐫 𝟗𝟗𝟔𝟖𝟖𝟖𝟓, or report to the nearest police station,” the police statement read.
